Grandma Smith

Grandma Smith wasn't really my grandmother, but she treated me like she was. My ex-boyfriend Kyle and I broke up over fourteen years ago, but Grandma Smith still invited me into her home with open arms and cookies. She was a great woman, and she passed away this past Tuesday. Unfortunately, I can't go to her funeral up in Pawnee, Oklahoma; I really wish I could. Last Christmas Eve, Kyle and I went up to give her gifts and see her (we still go up there together every once in a while). And, now that's going to be the last memory that I have of her. Fortunately, she was happy and surrounded by loved ones.
Plus, two summers ago, Kyle and I went up to stay with her for a week. We took her into Stillwater and got to know more about her and her history. I'm glad we got the chance to do that. I'm really going to miss her.

About Me

I was born and reared in Austin, Texas, where I attended three elementary schools, three middle schools, one high school, and one university. I've backpacked through Europe, gone on an archeological dig in the Belizean rainforest, scuba dived through the Atlantic reefs, and skydived over San Marcos. And, while hang-gliding turned out not to be for me, I did give it a shot.
